While there were several entertaining bouts tonight at UFC 166, lightweights Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez stole the show, and not surprisingly they earned “Fight of the Night”.

Melendez went on earn a unanimous decision win for the thrilling fight, which featured an all-out slugfest for the last five minutes of the bout. The two earned $60,000 each for the award.

“Knockout of the Night” went to flyweight John Dodson, who stunned Darrell Montague on a couple of occasions before finishing him off in the opening round.

“Submission of the Night” went to lightweight Tony Ferguson, who caught Mike Rio with a beautifully timed, D’arce choke in round one.

UFC was hosted by Houston, Texas, and featured heavyweight champ Cain Velazquez stopping Junior dos Santos in the main event.
