UFC 167: Rick Story to Fight Brian Ebersole

Brian Ebersole (far) scooped up Chris Lytle (near) at UFC 127 en route to winning a unanimous decision

The UFC has confirmed another welterweight bout for the promotion’s November 16th card in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Brian Ebersole will take on Rick Story. UFC 167, which will mark the promotion’s 20th anniversary, will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Ebersole (50-15-1) hasn’t fought since UFC 149 last July, when he lost by split decision to James Head. The defeat ended the noted grappler’s 11 fight win streak, which included Octagon victories over Chris Lytle, Claude Patrick, Dennis Hallman and TJ Waldburger.

Story (15-7) is coming off a tightly contested, split decision loss to Mike Pyle in May, after stopping Quinn Mulhern at UFC 158 in March. The powerful welterweight has gone 2-3 in his last five fights, and 8-5 in the UFC to date.

UFC 167 will be headlined by a welterweight bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and Johny Hendricks and will also feature a light-heavyweight fight between Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen.
