UFC 169: John Makdessi and Alan Patrick to Battle February 1st

The February 1st, UFC 169 card in Newark, New Jersey has a new lightweight bout, as John Makdessi and Alan Patrick have agreed to fight at the upcoming event.

The fight, which will go down at the Prudential Center, was announced by the promotion via Twitter.

Makdessi (12-2) is currently riding a three fight win streak, and is coming off a knockout win over Renee Forte at UFC 165 in September. The Tristar fighter has gone 5-2 to date in the UFC.

Patrick (11-0) made his Octagon debut at UFC FN 29 in October and stopped Garrett Whitely in the first round. Six of the X-Gym fighter’s wins to date have come via submission or stoppage.

UFC 169 will feature bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz taking on interim champ Renan Barao in the headliner, as well as featherweight champ Jose Aldo fighting Ricardo Lamas.
