Although there have been reports that Gilbert Melendez will fight rising lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 170 on February 22nd, Dana White has announced the bout’s not in fact official.

The UFC President took to Twitter and relayed that “this fight is not done yet”, in response to a tweet from “UFC Tonight” announcing the match-up.

Melendez (22-3) hasn’t fought since October when he scored a unanimous decision win over Diego Sanchez at UFC 166.

In Nurmagomedov’s (21-0) last outing, he earned a UD victory over Pat Healy at UFC 165 in September.

UFC 170 will take place February 22nd at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and will feature bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey taking on Sarah McMann.

It will also see former light-heavyweight champ Rashad Evans fight Daniel Cormier.
