UFC 173: Yves Edwards Versus Piotr Hallmann Targeted
By FCF Statt
The line-up for UFC 173 is nearing completion, as the promotion has announced that lightweights Yves Edwards and Piotr Hallmann have verbally agreed to fight at the May 24th event.
Edwards (42-20-1) is looking to end a three fight winless streak, as the veteran is coming off split decision losses to Isaac Vallie-Flagg and Daron Cruickshank, and a no contest versus Yancy Medeiros.
The 37 year-old Edwards was KO’d by Medeiros in October, however, the latter tested positive for marijuana following the victory and the result was overturned.
Hallmann (14-2) will be looking to rebound from a decision loss to Al Iaquinta in October, after the 26 year-old tapped out Francisco Trinaldo at UFC FN 28 in September.
UFC 173 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will feature middleweight champ Chris Weidman taking on Lyoto Machida in the headliner.
