UFC 174: Demetrious Johnson to Defend Title Versus Ali Bagautinov

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the main event for it’s June 14th return to Vancouver, as flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson will face Ali Bagautinov. UFC 174 will be hosted by the the city’s Rogers Arena.

Bagautinov (13-2) has defeated Marcos Vinicius Borges Pancini, Tim Elliott and most recently John Lineker since arriving in the UFC. With the victories, the Dagestan fighter has extended his winning streak to 11 and is currently ranked #5 in the UFC’s flyweight division.

Johnson (19-2-1) will head into UFC 174 having defended the belt three times since he decisioned Joseph Benavidez in 2012 to become champ. Since then, the dynamic fighter has defeated John Dodson, John Moraga and Benavidez for a second time.

News of the June 14th title fight was reported first by Sportnet’s Joe Ferraro, and was subsequently confirmed by the UFC.

Recently the promotion announced that UFC 174 will also feature Rory MacDonald taking on fellow welterweight contender Tyron Woodley.
