More than a few eyebrows were raised when it was announced that Urijah Faber’s bout with Alex Caceres this Saturday, won’t go down on the UFC 175 main card, but rather the prelims. While the move prompted some fans to question how the promotion views it’s #2 ranked bantamweight, UFC President Dana White says there’s nothing negative behind the fight’s placement.

In his weekly interview with UFC.com, here is what White had to say about the fact that Faber vs. Caceres will take place on the preliminary card:

“It’s a good thing. Everybody can watch Urijah Faber fight for free on the prelims, that’s why he’s there. It’s good for the fans, it’s good for Urijah and it’s good for FOX. There should be no bitching about him fighting on free TV. You know Urijah, he’s excited about everything. Not too much bums Urijah Faber out.”

Faber (30-7) is coming off a quick, stoppage loss to Renan Barao in February, which ended his four fight win streak.

Caceres (10-5), meanwhile, is undefeated in five straight fights.

UFC 175 will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
