Although Ronda Rousey needed just 16 seconds to take out Alexis Davis at UFC 175, the bantamweight champ incurred an injury in the jaw dropping bout.

Following the event, Rousey relayed that not only does she need to get her knee scoped, but that her hand received medical attention as well (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“This has been an injury I’ve been dealing with it since UFC 158, it’s my Hollywood injury. It hasn’t had time to heal,” Rousey told FOX Sports 1. “I already had something scheduled to get it looked at it after this. It turns out after the first overhand right, there was a cyst in my knuckle and it exploded and now I have stitches in my hand. And I have to get my knee scoped in a couple of days. I’ll be out for four weeks.”

Rousey initially revealed that she had a procedure booked for her knee during her post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. Rousey made the announcement after Rogan was prompted by the production crew, to ask her if she’d be able to fight again on August 2nd. The UFC 176 card is currently without a main event, as Jose Aldo was recently forced to withdraw from his bout with Chad Mendes.

Immediately after the fight, Dana White appeared to be quite upset with the question on camera, and the UFC President had this to say following the event (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I wasn’t upset with Joe Rogan; I was upset with the (broadcast) truck telling him to tell Ronda that she’s going to fight again,” White said. “That wasn’t true; that was some sh-t that somebody made up back there. It was the biggest idiotic move in the history of our production team.”

Rousey (10-0) has fought twice in 2014, and the champion also competed at UFC 168 on December 28th, when she submitted Miesha Tate.
