UFC 176 has picked up a compelling, middleweight bout, as Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will take on Gegard Mousasi at the August 2nd card.

The upcoming event will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, and will feature featherweight champ Jose Aldo taking on Chad Mendes.

News of the bout was retweeted by the UFC, which was reported first by the Los Angeles Daily News.

Souza (20-3) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Francis Carmont in February, which extended the middleweight’s win streak to six. “Jacare”, who is currently ranked #4, was KO’d by Mousasi when the two fought at a DREAM event in 2008.

Mousasi (35-4-2) will be looking to build on the impressive, submission win he recorded over Mark Munoz in May, which followed a decision loss to Lyoto Machida in February. Mousasi is ranked #7 in the UFC 185 pound division.

Some of the other bouts that have been booked for UFC 176 include Gray Maynard vs. Fabricio Camoes, Abel Trujillo vs. Bobby Green and Jussier “Formiga” vs. Zach Makovsky.
