On October 25th, Glover Teixeira will step into the Octagon for the first time since he was decisioned by champion Jon Jones, and the light-heavyweight is planning to dominate.

At UFC 179, Teixeira is booked to battle fellow contender Phil Davis, who is coming off a UD defeat to Anthony Johnson in April. While speaking to MMA Fighting.com about the fight, the #4 ranked Teixeira stated:

“I’m going for the finish. It won’t be a close fight. I thought Lyoto won his fight against Phil Davis (at UFC 163), but I didn’t protest because it was a close bout, either could win. I’m going to prove that I won, and I challenge the judge to rob me. It won’t go the distance, but I’d love to see how the judges would give him the win after I clearly win all three rounds, beating his face. They can put his father there as a judge and it won’t help.”

Davis, who is currently ranked #6 in the UFC’s 205 division, earned a controversial decision win over Machida last August.

Prior to facing Jones, the 34 year-old Teixeira had won 20 straight fights.

UFC 179 will be hosted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will feature a rematch between featherweight champ Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
