The line-up for UFC 182 has received a new heavyweight scrap, as the promotion has announced that Shawn Jordan will take on undefeated newcomer, Jared Connier.

Jordan (16-6) is coming off a third round, stoppage win over Jack May in August, after being KO’d in back-to-back fights by Matt Mitrione and Gabriel Gonzaga. The heavy handed heavyweight has gone 4-3 to date in the UFC.

Cannonier has won seven straight fights since he turned pro in 2011, and is coming off a split decision win over Tony Lopez while fighting for the Alaska Fighting Championship. Six of Cannonier’s seven victories have come via submission or TKO.

The January 3rd event will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones taking on Daniel Cormier.
