(Updated) UFC 186: Benson Henderson Offers to Fight Any Welterweight After “Rampage” Jackson’s Withdrawal
By FCF Staff
Now that UFC 186 has lost “Rampage” Jackson, the card’s in need of another big name fight, and former lightweight champ Benson Henderson is willing to step up.
Earlier today, it was announced that Bellator has been granted an injunction, which will prevent Jackson from fighting Fabio Maldonado at the April 25th event. The light-heavyweight bout was scheduled to be the card’s co-headliner.
Following the news, the following tweet was sent out from Henderson’s official Twitter feed:
Hey @ufc looks like u guys need some help for #UFC186…I can make 170lbs by then, any takers??? #OpenCall #TheOnceAndFutureKing

Henderson (22-5) moved up to welterweight in February and submitted Brandon Thatch in the fourth round. The decorated fighter was coming off a tightly contested, decision loss to lightweight contender, Donald Cerrone.
Since the win over Thatch, Henderson has expressed an interest in competing at 170 or 155. The 31 year-old is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
Update-Jorge Masvidal has responded to Henderson’s call out with the following tweets:
We were scheduled before lets do it now!! #UFC186 @BensonHenderson @ufc @danawhite @lorenzofertitta
