UFC 187: Chris Weidman Plans to “Keep Winning” And Silence His Doubters
By FCF Staff
Although Chris Weidman is widely considered to be one of the planet’s best pound-for-pound fighters, the UFC champ believes there are far too many people out there, who doubt his abilities.
Following Weidman’s quick and memorable stoppage win over Vitor Belfort last night at UFC 187, the undefeated middleweight told FOX Sports 1 the following (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):
“It’s frustrating. I’ve beat Anderson Silva twice and Lyoto Machida and now Vitor. It keeps me working hard and motivates me. You’re either joining the team now or you’re not.”
“I want to become the greatest of all time. I want to retire undefeated. I want to dominate this class and maybe move up some day. I keep winning and people will start supporting.”
With the win, Weidman moved his overall record to 13-0. Belfort’s fell to 24-11.
UFC 187 was hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
