The changes to UFC 187 keep coming, as not long after it was reported that Khabib Nurmagomedov has injured his knee, the promotion has announced John Makdessi will now face Donald Cerrone.

Makdessi (13-3) just fought at UFC 186 last weekend, and stopped Shane Campbell in the opening round. The Tristar fighter has gone 4-1 in his last five bouts, and his only loss during that time was a tightly contested, decision defeat to Alan Patrick.

Cerrone (27-6), meanwhile, continues to be one of the UFC’s top lightweight contenders thanks to a seven fight winning streak. Most recently the veteran decisioned former champ Benson Henderson in January.

UFC 187 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, Daniel Cormier will take on Anthony Johnson for the now vacant, light-heavyweight title.
