After suffering a one sided loss at the hands of Kelvin Gastelum, middleweight vet Nate Marquardt is reporting that he was ill leading up to the UFC 188 bout.

Marquardt was outstruck by Gastelum throughout the contest, and shortly before round two came to a close, the latter pummelled him with punches. Marquardt managed to make it back to his corner, but after his coach Trevor Wittman took a look at him, he waved the bout off.

Recently the 36 year-old vet posted the following update about his condition on Sqor.

With the defeat, Marquardt’s record fell to 33-15-2, and the former contender has gone 1-4 in his last 5 bouts.
