UFC 190: Ronda Rousey Talks Future, Takes Shot at Cris “Cyborg”

Rousey

By FCF Staff

Now that Ronda Rousey has defeated another of the UFC’s top bantamweights, and in decisive fashion yet again, speculation regarding her next fight is going to reach a fever pitch.

Rousey needed just 34 seconds to take out Bethe Correia with a series of thumping punches at UFC 190, and after the bout, she was asked about her future. Since Miesha Tate has won four in a row, and recently defeated contender Jessica Eye, there’s been talk about a third fight between her and Rousey.

Then, of course, there’s Cris “Cyborg” Justino, who is the reigning Invicta FC featherweight champ, and widely considered to be the biggest challenge out there for Rousey. Justino, however, has yet to make the drop to 135, which the UFC says is required, in order for Rousey-“Cyborg” to take place.

While speaking to FOX Sports 1 after last night’s card, here is what Rousey had to say about Tate and Justino (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“I prefer to fight who makes weight and doesn’t do drugs. If that’s what the fans want, beating up Miesha is good for both our careers. I’d like to be on the Aldo – McGregor card, but it’s up to the UFC.”

The Jose Aldo-Conor McGregor fight does not have a date yet, however, UFC President Dana White has said the promotion is looking at December for the all-star fight.
