UFC 192: Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson to Headline
By FCF Staff
Daniel Cormier finally has a date for his first title defense, as the UFC has announced that the light-heavyweight champ will fight Alexander Gustafsson on October 3rd. The fight will headline UFC 192, which will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston.
Cormier (16-1) won the 205 title in May, by submitting Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, after Jon Jones was stripped of the title earlier this year. Prior to that, Cormier was decisioned by Jones at UFC 182 in January.
Gustafsson (16-3), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since UFC on FOX 14 in January, when he was quickly stopped by Johnson. The contender tapped Jimi Manuwa in his previous outing, which took place in March, 2014.
UFC 192 will also feature a light-heavyweight bout between contenders Ryan Bader and Rashad Evans.
