At the pre-UFC 194 press conference this week Conor McGregor repeated his prediction that he’ll stop Jose Aldo in the opening round, and the featherweight has detailed why.

McGregor has repeatedly stated that he’ll stop the featherweight champ, and at the press conference, he relayed that he will have landed the shots to do so within four minutes. McGregor appeared on “UFC Tonight” afterwards, and when asked to explain his prediction, the Irish star stated (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“I’m not picking numbers from the sky, when I analyze his entries and exits, his approach, then my entries and exits, the shots that I need to land will land within the first four minutes of the fight.”

Aldo has only been defeated once in 26 pro bouts, and that was in 2005, when he was submitted by Luciano Azevedo. During the Brazilian’s run with the WEC and UFC,  Aldo has gone 15-0.

Saturday’s UFC 194 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
