UFC 195: Andrei Arlovski Says he Trains “Harder” Now Than When he Was Champ at 26

Andrei Arlovski has climbed his way back into the UFC’s title shot picture at the age of 36, and “The Pitbull” says it’s due to a work ethic he didn’t have when he was champ ten years ago.

At UFC 195 on Saturday, Arlovski will take on Stipe Miocic, in a bout which could determine who will challenge for the heavyweight belt next. Arlovski has been booked for the opportunity thanks to a six fight winning streak.

Recently the former champ spoke to UFC.com about the upcoming fight, and his recent run, and Arlovski noted this:

“For a heavyweight, I think it’s prime time,” Arlovski said. “Now I choose what’s more important for me, and for me right now, it’s important for me to be the champion in the UFC again, and I promise I will do everything possible to reach my dream. I’m telling you one thing, at the age of 36, I’m training harder and more than I used to train when I was 26, when I was a champion the first time in the UFC.”

UFC 195 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, welterweight champ Robbie Lawler will take on Carlos Condit.
