UFC 196: Miesha Tate Believes Holly Holm’s “Chin Could be Suspect”

Holly Holm is one of the most decorated and respected strikers in all of MMA, but Miesha Tate is questioning the bantamweight champ’s ability to take a punch.

Tate will battle Holm in the co-headliner of UFC 196, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garde Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday. Recently the perennial contender appeared on “UFC Tonight“, and while discussing Holm, Tate said this (quote via press release):

“She likes to have a very clean fight and keep people at the perfect range. Her chin could be suspect. In some fights when people connected – Ronda connected, Raquel Pennington connected – she can be knocked down.”

“It’s different styles,” when asked about how she may take Holm down. “With Judo, have to be hip to hip. All of Ronda’s attacks were to the head. She reached out and zombied into her. She has a completely different way to close distance than I do. I have a lot going for me in this fight.”

Tate is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jessica Eye last summer and has won four straight. Holm, meanwhile, KO’d Rousey in her last outing to become the 135 champ.
