UFC 198: Anderson Silva Out of Bout With Uriah Hall Due to Illness, Could Require Surgery
By FCF Staff
UFC 198 has been dealt a serious blow, just days out from the May 14th event, as Anderson Silva has reportedly withdrawn from his bout with Uriah Hall.
The former middleweight champ has been incurring abdominal pain, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, and Silva could require gall bladder surgery. The UFC has also confirmed Silva has withdrawn from the event, however, the statement didn’t not provide any details regarding his illness.
The 41 year-old legend is coming off a decision loss to Michael Bisping in February, which marked the first time Silva had fought since January, 2015.
UFC 198 will be hosted by Curitiba, Brazil, which is Silva’s home town.
