Not only did Michael Bisping turn the MMA world upside down at UFC 199, by defeating Luke Rockhold, he needed less than one round to do so.

The longtime, middleweight contender was a huge underdog heading into Saturday’s bout, but Bisping quickly put the champion away with a series of thumping punches. The British star did so after accepting the fight on two week’s notice.

Following the shocking fight, here is some of what Bisping had to say about his title cinching victory (quotes via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“It was the easiest two weeks of my life. I was drinking beer on a movie set three weeks ago. This was the easiest camp, the easiest fight, the easiest payday. Thanks Luke.”

I was reading his shots very well. I could see it coming. He was telegraphing his movements. I’m actually left handed and have more power with my left hand, but I stand orthodox when I fight. When I landed the first one, I knew I had to finish it. I got a couple more shots on him. He was out. I went to shake his hand afterward and he said he had already shook my hand. I said don’t be bitter after I took your belt.”

Rockhold submitted Bisping when the battled for the first time in 2014. At the post-fight press conference, Rockhold relayed he wants a a rubber match with the new champion, and Bisping agreed the fight should happen.
