Jon Jones has been pulled from UFC 200, after being informed of a potential anti-doping violation, but the light-heavyweight star is denying he knowingly took any banned substances.

Wednesday night the UFC announced that USADA has pulled Jones from his rematch with Daniel Cormier, due to the results of an out-of-competition test. The substance Jones has allegedly tested positive for has not been disclosed.

The interim champ held a press conference on Thursday morning, and while doing so, Jones said the following (quote via UFC.com):

“I want to start by apologizing to all the fans who came out to support me for UFC 200, the UFC and the Fertittas for not being able to perform, all the staff of UFC, and I want to apologize to Daniel Cormier,” Jones said. “The fight meant a lot to him and a lot to me, and I want to apologize sincerely. I’m really sorry about this happening.”

“The whole situation really sucks, it really hurts a lot,” added Jones, who also insisted he “wouldn’t cheat”. “I have no clue what it is. I’ve been taking the same supplements the majority of my career. I’m extremely against performance enhancers, and the whole thing sucks because being labelled as someone who cheats hurts me more than anything else.”

Jones is facing a two year suspension if he is unable to launch a successful appeal, but the 28 year-old said he will return to fighting, if he is sidelined.
