UFC 202: Conor McGregor on Why Trilogy With Nate Diaz Will Happen, “100 Percent”
By FCF Staff
Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor will battle for a second time on August 20th, and according to the latter, a third bout will also go down, sooner or later.
The two met in a welterweight contest this past March at UFC 196, and Diaz submitted McGregor in the second round. Following the bout, McGregor reportedly campaigned hard for an immediate rematch with Diaz, and the UFC granted the featherweight champ his wish.
Recently the UFC held a media call to promote UFC 202, and during it, McGregor was asked about whether he believes a third bout with Diaz could happen (quote via UFC.com):
“100 percent,” McGregor said. “Of course. Maybe not straight away, but most certainly there will be a trilogy fight. Me and the boy have something and it ain’t finished yet.”
McGregor had won seven straight UFC bouts before facing Diaz. UFC 202 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
