(Updated) UFC 202: Press Conference Ends in Mayhem After Nate Diaz Walks Out
By FCF Staff
After Conor McGregor showed up half-an-hour late for today’s press conference in Las Vegas, Nate Diaz proceeded to walk out not long after, and chaos ensued.
The presser was supposed to begin at 1:00 PM/PST, and UFC President Dana White made it clear he wasn’t happy about the fact that McGregor wasn’t there on time. McGregor eventually showed up around 1:30, and relayed that he thought the press conference was supposed to start then.
McGregor proceeded to field a couple of questions, when Diaz got up, and started walking out. The Stockton fighter could be heard saying things to McGregor and his supporters, before Diaz threw a water bottle in his opponent’s direction. McGregor fired back water bottles as well, as White warned the featherweight champ not to do so. Finally security and UFC staff were able to bring the mayhem to a halt.
You can watch some of what unfolded below. Diaz – McGregor II will headline UFC 202 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
