UFC 203: Stipe Miocic Says Alistair Overeem “Hasn’t Seen Anything Like me Yet”
By FCF Staff
Alistair Overeem may be one of the most experienced and decorated heavyweights in all of MMA, but Stipe Miocic says the “Reem” hasn’t faced an opponent like him yet.
Miocic will fight Overeem this Saturday night in the headliner of UFC 203, which will be the Ohio fighter’s first title defense. Miocic secured the heavyweight title back in May, by quickly knocking out Fabricio Werdum.
Overeem (41-14), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage win over Andrei Arlovski that same month.
Recently Miocic (15-2) spoke to UFC.com about this weekend’s fight, and while doing so, he said this about Overeem:
“He’s a big strong guy,” Miocic said about the challenger, who has won four straight. “Great standup, killer kickboxer; he’s real savvy and a veteran, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before and I know he hasn’t seen anything like me yet.”
“I’m going to win,” the champion added. “It’s going to be “And Still” and I’m going to walk out with the belt around my waist. Come Saturday, you’ll see.”
UFC 203 will be hosted by the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
