Chris Weidman holds two wins over the legendary Anderson Silva, and is a former middleweight champ, but the “All-American” believes he has a lot more to prove, as he gets set to fight Yoel Romero.

Weidman will take on Romero at UFC 205 on Saturday night, which will take place the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. It will mark the first time the 32 year-old Weidman has fought, since he lost the 185 title to Luke Rockhold last December.

In advance of this weekend’s bout, Weidman recently had this to say, while discussing his future (quote via UFC.com):

“I feel like I haven’t accomplished my goals yet and I feel like I’m in the prime of my career, so I have a lot more to offer and prove to myself,” Weidman said. “I get a win on Saturday night, get a fight with Bisping, get to beat him up and get my belt back, and then the sky’s the limit. I learned a lot from the loss (to Luke Rockhold in 2015) and I’m excited to hold that belt again. I’m hungry.”

In Romero, Weidman will face a fighter who has won seven straight fights. Most recently the decorated, Cuban wrestler earned a split decision win over “Jacare” Souza last December.
