Kelvin Gastelum

By FCF Staff

Kelvin Gastelum’s issues making 171 pounds continue, as the UFC has announced the fighter cannot make weight for his bout with Donald Cerrone, and that the fight is off.

Gastelum was scheduled to fight Cerrone on the main card of UFC 205 tomorrow. The UFC didn’t disclose what weight Gastelum was at, however, when the decision to cancel the bout was made. Gastelum has missed weight for a welterweight bout three times now.

In addition, the promotion has announced that Thiago Alves came in at 162.6 pounds for his lightweight bout with Jim Miller. The fight will proceed, but Alves has been fined 20% of his purse. The former welterweight contender was making his first cut to lightweight.

UFC 205 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.
