After being passed over for a lightweight title fight at UFC 205, Khabib Nurmagomedov is threatening to “show his power”, if he’s not awarded a title fight next.

Recently UFC President Dana White reported that Nurmagomedov, and not Conor McGregor, was going to fight the lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez. But, then the promotion announced that Alvarez – McGregor was going to headline the November 12th, UFC 205 card.

Nurmagomedov has now been signed to fight Michael Johnson at the New York City card, but while appearing on The Luke Thomas Show, the undefeated fighter said this (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I’d rather take this fight [with Johnson] because [Alvarez] signed with the UFC bullsh-t contract because he understands if he takes fight with me, his belt is going bye-bye. That’s why both of them take this fight. And Dana a little bit played games and used my name. I never forget this.

“If I don’t fight, I’m gonna show how I have power in Russia. And UFC, I don’t fight in UFC ever and UFC never, ever go to the Russia. UFC think Conor have power. I have power too. This is not all about pay-per-view. I have power too. I’m gonna show this power.”

The decorated Sambo competitor and highly regarded grappler has won seven straight fights now in the UFC.
