Anderson Silva is widely regarded to be the greatest fighter of all time, but the former middleweight champ says being the best father, friend and person possible, is more important.

Silva will take on fellow middleweight contender Derek Brunson this Saturday at UFC 208, in what will serve as the co-headliner. The legendary fighter appeared on the latest “UFC Tonight“, and when Silva was asked what it means to be considered the greatest fighter, the 41 year-old stated (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“In my mind and my heart, I need to do the best fighting outside the cage for my kids, my family and friends and to help more people. Inside the cage, it’s simple. You win 2, 3, 5 fights, maybe you become the best fighter in the world, but outside it’s more difficult. My goal is to be the best man in my life, not the best fighter.”

Silva will be fighting for the first time since last July, when he lost via decision to 205 champ, Daniel Cormier. Brunson, meanwhile, was stopped by Robert Whittaker in his last outing, which took place in November.

UFC 208 will be hosted by Brooklyn, New York.
