Not only was Mark Hunt knocked out by Alistair Overeem at UFC 209, but the feared slugger is also reporting he broke his tibia.

Early on into the bout, Hunt incurred a huge gash on his right leg, after Overeem checked a leg kick attempt. The latter went on to stop Hunt with vicious knees to the head in round three.

[Update: following Hunt’s initial post, sources close to his camp have reportedly informed MMA Fighting that the fighter did not break any bones during the bout]

Following the bout, Hunt posted the following comments on Instagram:

Thank u for all the support u probably already know I got knocked out the old warhorse is still alive jus a broken tibia I be back
