Tyron Woodley will be defending the welterweight title for a second time today at UFC 209, and both Kenny Florian and Michael Bisping believe the powerful wrestler’s going to remain champ.

Woodley will take on Stephen Thompson tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada, marking the second time the two have fought. At UFC 205 in November, the welterweights battled to a majority draw, with one judge scoring it for Woodley.

During the latest “UFC Tonight“, both Bisping and Florian were asked to weigh-in on the contest, and here’s some of what they had to say (quotes via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“Key number one, Woodley has got to utilize the feints. Key two, he’s got to land the takedowns, ” said Florian. “And three, he’s got to throw counterstrikes. He’s got to counter-strike the counter striker.”

“First, Thompson has to stop the takedown,” Bisping said, while discussing Thompson’s keys to a win. “Then, he has to use his footwork, which will help stop the takedown, and use the space in the Octagon. And finally, he’s got to vary his attack. He has an array of striking and has to use them.”

In terms of a prediction, however, Florian and Bisping sadi this:

“I think Woodley will learn from the first fight,” noted Bisping, while outlining why he believes Woodley will win. “He’ll push forward more and get the takedowns.”

“I think seeing Thompson for 25 minutes in the first fight is a big advantage for Woodley,” argued Florian, while explaining his belief that Woodley will retain the title. “He’ll make some nice adjustments.”

Tonight’s card will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena.
