UFC 211: Brian Stann Believes Stipe Miocic “Can go Down as The Best Heavyweight Ever”

Following Stipe Miocic’s quick, stoppage win at UFC 211, analyst Brian Stann believes the Cleveland fighter could rule the heavyweight division for some time.

Miocic took on Junior dos Santos in the main event, and proceeded to put away the former champ with punches in the opening round. The victory marked the second time Miocic has defended the heavyweight title, and it also avenged his 2014, decision loss to dos Santos.

After the card, Stann had this to say about Miocic, on the post-fight, FS 1 show (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“He looked absolutely fantastic. He has next level confidence. I think he’s at a different level. He believes it now. He knows how good he can be. He’s more accurate. It’s all starting to come together. When there was an opening, bam, he hit it.”

“We know Francis Ngannou is coming up fast. He’s young. He can be a threat. I just don’t want to see him pushed to quickly yet. Stipe will want to take him down. I think we can see Stipe here for some time. I think he can go down as the best heavyweight ever.”

Saturday’s win extended Miocic’s winning streak to five, and during that run, the 34 year-old has finished every opponent he’s faced.
