Recently Junior dos Santos predicted  he’ll finish Stipe Miocic within two rounds, and the UFC heavyweight champ’s responded to the challenger’s call.

Dos Santos will challenge Miocic in the main event of UFC 211, which will take place in Dallas on Saturday. Leading up to the bout, JDS has predicted he’ll stop Miocic “before the end of the second round”.

On the latest “UFC Tonight”, Miocic was asked to weigh-in on that prediction, and the champion said this (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“Good for him. It’s good to be confident. But he knows it’s not going to happen. I guarantee that. He said it last time and it went five rounds. I’m completely different than three years ago. His eyes will be wide open when we get in there and I shut him down.”

“I’m fighting the last guy who beat me,” Miocic also relayed, while discussing his motivation for the bout. “The last time I lost it was to him. I want to get it back. I like winning. I want to be the champ. I like walking out with the belt.”

Miocic and dos Santos fought in 2014, and the latter won the fight via decision. Since then, Miocic has stopped four straight opponents.
