UFC 212: Jose Aldo Fires Back at Max Holloway, Following Latter’s Threat to “Take Over” Rio de Janeiro

Jose Aldo didn’t have to engage in too much trash talk leading up to his bout last summer with Frankie Edgar, but things are different this time around, as he gets set to face Max Holloway.

Aldo and Holloway will fight in the main event of UFC 212, which will take place on June 3rd in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before the bout was booked, Holloway accused Aldo of ducking him, and since the fight was finalized, the two have continued to exchange words through the media.

Case in point, recently Holloway warned Aldo that like a “king”, he’s going to take over  the Brazilian’s “own village”.  Aldo was asked to respond to those comments, while speaking to the Brazilian media recently, and the featherweight champ said this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“F—k no. Bullsh-t. Won’t take anything,” Aldo said. “He’s just another one who will try, and he doesn’t know how trained I am. I’m excited about this fight because of everything he said. That only motivated me every time he talked. You can be sure that he won’t take any kingdom here.”

“I’ll knock him out,” added Aldo, while discussing the upcoming bout. “I’m done with wars. I’ve been in many wars already. You can be sure that there’s a knockout coming.”

Aldo is coming off a decision win over Edgar last July, while Holloway stopped Anthony Pettis in December, and became the interim 145 champ.
