Following the late withdrawal of Amanda Nunes from UFC 213, Dana White says he will not headline another event with the women’s 135 title.

Nunes was scheduled to fight Valentina Shevchenko in Saturday’s main event. But, just hours before the card was set to begin, the UFC announced the bantamweight champ had withdrawn due to illness.

After Saturday’s card, White had this to say about the situation at the post-fighter presser (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“This morning, I wake up and I hear that she’s not feeling well again,” White continued. “And … she’s not feeling well again and she’s probably not going to fight. So, I asked the doctors what’s wrong with her. She was medically cleared. She was physically OK, they found nothing wrong with her, but she didn’t feel right.”

“I won’t do that again,” added White, who also said he believes Nunes’ issues were “90% mental”. “I won’t headline with that title again.”

The UFC President also reported that they are hoping to book Nunes – Shevchenko II for UFC 215, September 9th.
