UFC 223: Max Holloway Posts Statement After Being Pulled From Headliner
By FCF Staff
After being ruled medically unfit to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov tomorrow at UFC 223, Max Holloway has posted a statement regarding the unfortunate turn of events.
Holloway stepped up on just six days notice to fight Nurmagomedov, after Tony Ferguson was sidelined with a knee injury. But, while trying to make 155 pounds today for tomorrow’s contest, doctors ruled Holloway could not take the bout.
Since then, Holloway tweeted out this comment:
. @TeamKhabib my brother I want to keep going but they are stopping me. Sorry to your team and the fans. You don’t deserve this. This is number one. Shout outs to you and @Showtimepettis . Give the fans what they deserve

As this is being written, there’s no word on whether a replacement opponent has been found for Nurmagomedov.
