Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC 219 has received a high stakes, lightweight fight, as the promotion’s announced that Khabib Nurmagomedov will face Edson Barboza at the event.

The December 30th card will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nurmagomedov (24-0) has yet to fight in 2017, as he was forced to dropout of a bout with Tony Ferguson in March, due to medical issues he encountered while cutting weight. The #2 ranked lightweight hasn’t fought since November, 2016, when he submitted Michael Jonson.

Barboza (19-4) knocked out Beneil Dariush in his last outing, which extended his winning streak to three. Barboza is currently ranked #3 in the lightweight division.
