UFC and Pride Vet Phil Baroni Fighting Chris Holland at Ring of Fire 43

Baroni

Tyler Toner to Meet Cameron Dollar for Featherweight Belt

By FCF Staff

The Denver based promotion Ring of Fire has announced that UFC and Pride veteran Phil Baroni will battle welterweight Chris Holland at its upcoming June 2nd “Bad Blood” event in Broomfield, Colorado.

The card, which will be hosted by the region’s 1st Bank Center, will also feature a bout between UFC vets Cameron Dollar and Tyler Toner for the promotion’s vacant featherweight belt.

Baroni (14-14) hasn’t competed since October when he lost by unanimous decision to Yoshiyuki Yoshida while competing for ONE FC. Prior to the loss the 36 year-old veteran scored a UD win over Nick Nolte at Titan FC 17 last March.

In a press release from the promotion, the charismatic Baroni was quoted saying:

“Who am I fighting again? I’m gonna hit him forget him.”

Holland (4-3) is coming off back-to-back knockout wins over Josh Caven and Robert Martinez after being stopped by Brandon Thatch at ROF 40 last April.

“I have so much respect for Phil Baroni, he is an MMA legend,” Holland added. “I really enjoy the way he comes to fight and entertain the fans while he does it.  He is a very hard puncher, and I know he has good wrestling…I can’t wait to put these hands on him.”

Toner (13-3) has won two straight fights, while competing for ROF, since he lost by unanimous decision to Ian Loveland at the TUF 12 Finale in December, 2010.

Dollar (10-4) is coming off a split decision win over Justin Houghton while competing for Fight to Win in February. The featherweight is 3-2 in his last five fights.

ROF has also announced that Justin Gaethje will challenge Marcus Edwards for his lightweight “Young Guns” title at the upcoming June 2nd card.
