UFC Announces Dominick Cruz to Challenge TJ Dillashaw Next
By FCF Staff
After spending much of 2015 on the sidelines due to another knee injury, Dominick Cruz will return to the Octagon on January 17th, and will face bantamweight champ, TJ Dillashaw.
The UFC announced the bout on Wendesday, and although a venue has not been booked, the card is expected to take place in Boston.
Cruz (20-1) missed all of 2012 and 2013 due to knee injuries, before returning to the cage last September, when he quickly stopped Takeya Mizugaki.
The 30 year-old was the WEC champion and was handed the UFC title when the promotion was merged into the latter. After suffering his second knee injury, Cruz was stripped of the title.
Dillashaw (12-2), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage win over Renan Barao in July, which was his second victory over the former champ. Dillashaw has won four straight fights.
