UFC Announces First FX Event; Ludwig vs. Neer, Morecraft vs. Barry Confirmed

Neer

By FCF Staff

The first UFC card to air live on FOX’s FX channel will feature Duane Ludwig versus fellow welterweight vet Josh Neer, and heavyweight Pat Barry taking on Christian Morecraft. The bouts are the first to be confirmed for the UFC’s first card on FX, however, the event’s date, city and venue have yet to be announced.

The UFC’s seven year, broadcasting agreement with FOX officially gets underway in 2012, which will include extensive UFC programming on FX.

Ludwig (21-11) is coming off back-to-back decision wins over Nick Osipcak and most recently Amir Sadollah, while Neer (32-10-1) made a successful return to the promotion in October, and stopped Keith Wisniewski (via doctor stoppage).

In Morecraft’s (7-2) last outing he was knocked out by Matt Mitrione in June, after tapping out Sean McCorkle in March.

Barry (6-4) will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as the noted striker has incurred back-to-back losses to Cheick Kongo and most recently Stefan Struve, after defeating Joey Beltran in January.
