Vitor Belfort

Although Luke Rockhold has called for a rematch with Vitor Belfort in recent weeks, the latter has been booked to face fellow Brazilain, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

The UFC has announced that the middleweight contenders will battle on May 14th at a Brazilian city and venue to be determined.

Belfort (25-11) is coming off a stoppage win over Dan Henderson in November and is ranked #3 at 185. Belfort stopped Rockhold back in 2013, but was defeated by now former champ Chris Weidman earlier this year.

Souza (22-4), meanwhile, dropped a split decision to Yoel Romero in December. “Jacare” is currently ranked #2. Romero had won 8 straight prior to the defeat.
