UFC 189 has received a pivotal, featherweight bout, as the promotion has announced that Jeremy Stephens will fight Dennis Bermudez at the July 11th event. The card will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stephens (23-11) will be looking to end a two fight, losing skid, as the feared slugger is coming off decision losses to Charles Oliveira and Cub Swanson. Prior to the losses Stephens had won three straight.

Bermudez (14-4) is also coming off a defeat, as the well rounded fighter was submitted by Ricardo Lamas in his last outing, which took place in October. Bermudez had won seven in a row before facing Lamas.

UFC 189 will be headlined by a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Welterweight champ Robbie Lawler will also face Rory MacDonald.
