As expected, the UFC has officially confirmed that Gegard Mousasi will take on fellow middleweight contender Thales Leites in the new co-headliner for UFC Fight Night 83.

Originally Mousasi was scheduled to fight Michael Bisping at the February 27th event, but the latter was booked to fight Anderson Silva instead. As a result, the UFC has called on Leites to fight Mousasi.

Leites (25-5) is coming off a split decision loss to Bisping this past July, which snapped his eight fight winning streak.

Mousasi (37-6-2) is looking to get back on track after he was stopped by Uriah Hall in September. The veteran is 3-2 in his last 5 contests.

UFC FN 83 will be hosted by the O2 Arena in London, England.
