Although Steven Ray will wrap up his current UFC contract today in Glasgow, when he takes on Paul Felder, the Scottish fighter says he’s not feeling any additional pressure.

Ray (21-6) will face Felder at UFC Fight Night 113, which will be hosted by the SSE Hydro Arena. If Ray wins, he will have gone 6-1 in the Octagon and will move his winning streak to three.

Recently the 27 year-old spoke to MMA Fighting about today’s bout, and the fact he’s about to enter free agency, and the lightweight said this:

“I don’t feel any additional pressure because of the free agency situation, but I always feel the pressure of a fight,” said Ray, who is coming off a decision win over rugged vet, Joe Lauzon. “I’m at home and I’m fighting a tough guy, there’s always pressure in that regard.

“It’s all about how you deal with that pressure. As I like to say, ‘pressure is for tires.’ You can only deal with pressure by taking a look at the evidence.”

“…If pressure is something that gives me 50 grand bonuses, then bring on the pressure.”

Felder (13-3), meanwhile, took out Alessandro Ricci in his last bout and is 3-1 in his last 4 contests.
