UFC FN 128: Kevin Lee Says he Raises All The Questions People Want Khabib Nurmagomedov to Answer
By FCF Staff
Kevin Lee has made it clear in the past that he’s not sold on the idea Khabib Nurmagomedov is the planet’s best lightweight, and following his win at UFC Fight Night 128, he doubled down on that argument.
Lee faced fellow contender Edson Barboza in the main event of Saturday’s card, and dominated nearly all of the action. Barboza stunned Lee, badly, with a third round wheel kick, but the latter’s wrestling and top game proved to be his undoing. The doctor stopped the bout in round five, due to the damage Barboza’s right eye had taken.
Following the win, Lee had this to say about the new, lightweight champ, Nurmagomedov (quote via MMA Junkie):
“I feel like I bring a complete style to this game, and I can raise up a lot of questions that people want answers for, especially with people like Khabib. He can’t outwrestle me, he can’t outwork me, he can’t out-strike me. So we’re going to see what the better fight (is) and what the UFC really wants, because that’s what really matters.”
Saturday’s bout marked the first time Lee had fought since he was submitted by now former interim champ, Tony Ferguson, in October.
