UFC FN 26: Overeem and Rua Lead Payroll

The Massachusetts State Athletic Commission has released the payroll figures for Ultimate Fight Night 26, which took place August 17th at Boston’s TD Garden Arena.
Not surprisingly, headliners “Shogun” Rua and Chael Sonnen were amongst the leaders, as were decorated heavyweight Alistair Overeem and former WEC champ Urijah Faber.
According to the commission’s numbers, Rua was paid $175,000 for his submission loss to Sonnen, who earned $100,000 for the win.
The former Strikeforce and DREAM champ Overeemwas paid just over $285K for his bout with Travis Browne, which saw the latter score a KO win. Browne earned $48 grand.
The other leader in terms of salary was the bantamweight vet Faber, who collected $120,000 for his UD win over Yuri Alcantara.
Here are the salary figures that were released to the Massachusetts commission by the UFC. They do not include any other bonuses or sponsorship money a fighter may have earned.
