UFC FN 39: Michel Prazeres Stepping in for Gleison Tibau
By FCF Staff
The March 23rd, UFC Fight Night card in Natal, Brazil, has received a change, as the promotion has announced that Gleison Tibau has been forced to withdraw from the event. As a result, Michel Prazeres has agreed to step in and fight Mairbek at UFC FN 39, which will be hosted by the Nelio Dias Gymnasium.
Although the UFC’s announcement did not include any specific details as to why Tibau won’t fight, MMA Fighting.com is reporting that the lightweight injured his knee.
Prazeres (17-1) will be looking to build on a split decision win he recorded over Jesse Ronson at UFC 165, after losing by UD to Paulo Thiago last May.
Mairbek (21-4) will be competing in the Octagon for the second time, as he decisioned Tae Hyun Bang in his UFC debut on January 4th.
UFC FN 39 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson.
