UFC FN 40: Daron Cruickshank to Battle Erik Koch
By FCF Staff
It hasn’t taken the UFC long to book Erik Koch another fight, following his quick stoppage win over Rafaello Oliveira last weekend, as the promotion has announced he’ll face Daron Cruickshank May 10th.
The lightweight bout will be part of UFC FN 40, which will be hosted by the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Koch (14-3) made the move to lightweight at UFC 170 on February 22nd, after losing consecutive bouts to featherweight contenders Ricardo Lamas and Dustin Poirier. The Roufusport fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
Cruickshank (14-4) is coming off a second round, TKO win over Mike Rio at UFC on FOX 10, after he was submitted by Adriano Martins at UFC FN 32 in November. The noted striker is also 3-2 in his last 5 contests.
The main event has yet to be announced for UFC FN 40, but some of the confirmed bouts include Johnny Eduardo vs. Eddie Wineland, Ed Herman vs. Rafael Natal and Manny Gamburyan vs. Nik Lentz.
