Despite absorbing a ton of punishment in the UFC FN 40 headliner, and leaving the Octagon on a stretcher, Erick Silva has reportedly been cleared to return home.

The Brazilian fighter, who was stopped by Matt Brown in round three, was immediately taken to a Cincinnati hospital after the bout. UFC President Dana White reported in a follow up tweet, however, that Silva is okay.

Silva (16-5) had Brown in trouble early on, thanks to a pounding body kick and several choke attempts, but was unable to finish the fight. Over the next two rounds, Silva absorbed dozens of hard punches and elbows, before the fight was called in round three.

The 29 year-old fighter earned “Fight of the Night” and an extra $50 grand, alongside Brown, for his gutsy performance.
